TRAINING CURRICULUM

Aegis Safety Alliance is a collective of women and non-binary media safety experts with diverse backgrounds and specialties, offering holistic, trauma-informed, identity centered safety training to journalists, documentarians and media-makers working in various contexts. Aegis provides consultations to newsrooms, media agencies, NGOs and companies on how to make existing safety training more inclusive, equitable and trauma-informed. They also help organizations create and implement inclusive, equity-focused safety trainings.

TRAINING CONSULTANT
Sally Fitton is Director of TV and Film projects at Secret Compass where she provides safety, security and risk management advice and support for a wide range of media organizations commissioned by major broadcasters and streamers. These range from news, drama and reality TV to natural history documentaries. Sally joined Secret Compass from the BBC where she was High Risk Advisor for Current Affairs and the World Service, designing and delivering the corporation's Managing High Risk Deployments course for senior editorial staff. She is a keen advocate of media safety and risk management and lectures internationally on journalist safety. Previously Sally served as a British army officer, media advisor and Chartered Security Professional and has experience of multiple military operational tours. She currently sits on the board of trustees for the Rory Peck Trust.

        Sally Fitton
FILMMAKER
Phil Cox created the award-winning indie collective Native Voice Films in 2001. He is a recipient of the Gran Prix Bayeux, Rory Peck and Hinzpeter awards for his reportage work covering conflict. Cox's international cinema features have premiered at IDFA, Toronto, Sundance, Berlin and Sheffield. He is based in London and Palermo.

Phil Good is an award winning director, animator and motion designer. He is currently creating title sequences and graphics for TV, most recently, Who Killed Jill Dando? (Netfix). He has also helped fine artist and NFT pioneer, Robert Alice, Leading AI company Alethea AI, Channel 4 News, CNN, Vice, Casio, Honda, Deutsche Bank and a host of global brands.
